**New aerodynamic enhancements provide GR Yaris GTS with more dynamic look and feel**
**Aero parts developed through motorsport experience**
**New GR Yaris package arrives in Australia in late 2025**
Toyota’s motorsport-bred GR Yaris hot hatch has been made even more dynamic with the addition of the Aero Performance Package option for the flagship GTS grade, arriving in Australian showrooms by the end of the year.
Priced from $64,990 plus on-road costs1 for the six-speed manual variant, the new GR Yaris GTS Aero Performance Package alternative adds multiple exterior upgrades inspired directly from its involvement in professional rallying and Super Taikyu racing.
Toyota Australia Vice President Sales, Marketing and Franchise Operations Sean Hanley said the new Aero Performance Package showed how learnings in motorsport fed into the development of Toyota sports cars.
“We’ve always said that TOYOTA GAZOO Racing expertise is used to make ever-better production cars, and the GR Yaris GTS Aero Performance Package is clear evidence of just that,” Mr Hanley said.
“These upgrades make the dynamic GR Yaris even more potent, helping to increase grip, braking and overall performance, while also adding some serious visual flair.”
The Aero Performance Package brings a range of upgrades which not only enhance the look of the GR Yaris but also add functional benefits, starting with a large cooling duct and grille on the hood, which helps to discharge heat from the engine compartment.
Developed from racing in the Japanese Rally Championship, the hood duct helps keep the 1.6-litre turbocharged three-cylinder engine cooler when driving at high speeds.
A large, manually adjustable rear spoiler has been fitted to the rear of the car, aiding in high-speed handling and braking stability depending on the set angle.
At the front of the vehicle, a new lip spoiler has been developed from use in Super Taikyu racing with input from professional driver Kazuya Oshima, who also participates in Super Formula and Super GT race formats in Japan.
The front lip spoiler helps to suppress vehicle lift and therefore enhances handling.
Front fender ducts located between the front wheels and doors help expel accumulated rearward air from the wheelhouse to improve steering feel under heavy braking while also making the car more stable when entering corners.
Another feature developed from participation in Super Taikyu is a duct on each side of the rear bumper which provides smoother airflow under the car. The ducts were installed after a Super Taikyu GR Yaris had its rear bumper decanted from high aerodynamic loads.
A new floor undercover further improves air flow underneath the vehicle to contribute to enhanced aerodynamics.
The Aero Performance Package is available on the GTS grade only, meaning it is paired with the higher-specification features including a Torsen®2 limited-slip differential, high-performance suspension, 18-inch forged alloy wheels shod in Michelin®3 Pilot Sport 4S tyres and red GR brake calipers.
All versions of the GR Yaris are powered by the G16E-GTS 1.6-litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine producing 221kW of power and 400Nm of torque.
Like the rest of the range, the GTS Aero Performance Package can be paired with either a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmission, which delivers power to all four wheels via an adjustable full-time all-wheel-drive system with selectable AWD modes.
