The Toyota HiLux has led the brand’s sales in May, with 4,005 vehicles delivered to customers across Australia.
Following the launch of the majority of variants of the new-generation HiLux range in late 2025, this month all variants are now available in Australia, including the innovative HiLux BEV and hard-working HiLux Extra Cab.
The result comes amid continued strong demand across Toyota’s core model range.
Toyota recorded 16,342 vehicle deliveries in May, bringing its year-to-date total to more than 76,000 vehicles across the first five months of 2026.
In the second month since the launch of the new-generation, RAV4 achieved 3,861 deliveries. This marks the RAV4’s strongest monthly result so far this year.
The RAV4 range will expand further in late June with the introduction of Toyota’s first plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) in Australia, the RAV4 PHEV.
Toyota Australia Vice President Sales, Marketing and Franchise Operations John Pappas said the strong results for HiLux and RAV4 demonstrate the important role these vehicles play in the Toyota line-up.
“We have increased our 2026 sales forecast by 10,000 vehicles to 220,000, reflecting strong and sustained demand across our line-up, including both HiLux and RAV4.
“This month, we introduced the bZ4X Touring to our line-up and in the coming weeks, we look forward to the arrival of further key models including the RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) and LandCruiser 300 Performance Hybrid.
“With new product introductions and improving supply, we anticipate a strong second half of 2026.”
